In almost all games of poker, players use poker chips. If there are seven or more players, the game should be supplied with these chips. The lowest value of a chip is called a white chip. A red chip is worth five whites and a blue chip is worth two, four, or five reds. When you buy into a poker game, you “buy in” by purchasing chips. Typically, players buy in for the same amount.
Pre-flop betting phase
The pre-flop betting phase is the first round of the game and consists of placing bets before the flop. This betting interval differs between poker games. Before the flop, the player who places chips first is considered an active player. After placing bets, other players may raise their bets based on the contributions made by other players. Then, after the flop, the remaining players will match the last bet and move on to the next round of betting.

Big blind
The players to the left of the dealer button force the other players to place “blinds” as their first bet. The blinds are generally two, but can range from none to three. The larger the blind, the more money a player can raise before they’re called “all in.”
Side pot
A side pot is a separate pot created in a game of poker. It is created when a player calls all-in with a smaller amount of chips than the player’s starting stack. When this happens, the remaining players must match the bets of the players to win that side pot. If the remaining players don’t match, then their bets go into the main pot. When this happens, the player who won the initial pot loses all his chips and will never win the side pot.
Bluffing
In poker, bluffing is a strategy in which a player intentionally deceives their opponent in order to steal their money. The act of bluffing is sometimes referred to as double barreling or gutshot. Bluffing is a good way to convince an opponent of your weak hand, thus reducing their win rate. Nonetheless, there are some risks involved when you are bluffing, and you must be aware of them.
